The Spinettes are a unique group of performers specialising in 40s to 60s music. They are West End musical performers and were touring Surrey in October.
I saw them in Reigate. The show was hosted by Matthew Goodgame and the girls sang hits from the 40s, 50s and 60s. The trio were Lucy Anderson who performed in Chicago, Crazy for You and On The Town. Louise Quinton-Jones who appeared in Fame, High School Musical, X Factor and Lullaby of Broadway and Chloe Ames who was in Wicked and Chicago. Lovely girls.
Matthew told me they have about 18 girls and when they are not in shows they perform in small venues for charity, so the troupe does change.
The show in Reigate was for the Alzheimer’s Society Charity, a great cause.
As soon as the Spinettes entered the room they had everyone’s attention. They were dressed in 1950s fashion, and not only looked the part but sounded fantastic. It was like stepping back in time and they had everyone up dancing. They are a very professional group and Matthew added to the night. He was in Chicago, Grease and the 12 Tenors and is a very nice guy.
The trio have performed at The Shard, 10 Downing Street, Café de Paris and Goodwood.
It was a fabulous night’s entertainment. If you ever get a chance make it a point to see them.
