I’ve just been up to the North of England and visited Cragside, Rothbury, Northumberland now managed by the National Trust. This was the home of the great inventor Lord Armstrong and was the first home in the world to have electric lights, powered by a hydroelectric plant. He also installed a hydraulic lift. This is where modern living began.
Cragside has 1,000 acres of rugged woodlands and I wandered down the rock garden and across the iconic iron bridge. It was great for photography.
Also while I was up north, walking by a beach I heard a very loud noise and looked up to see the Red Arrows. They had been at a local air show. What a sight! Beautiful.
I shall be away in November for a couple of days - I am working Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd and then will be away on 3rd 4th and 5th.
